How to uninstall or remove emacs23-gtk software package from Debian 7 (Wheezy)

You can uninstall or removes an installed emacs23-gtk package itself from Debian 7 (Wheezy) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove emacs23-gtk

Uninstall emacs23-gtk including dependent package

If you would like to remove emacs23-gtk and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove emacs23-gtk
Use Purging emacs23-gtk

If you use with purge options to emacs23-gtk package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge emacs23-gtk

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove emacs23-gtk
