How to uninstall or remove libavformat57 software package from Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libavformat57 package itself from Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libavformat57

Uninstall libavformat57 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libavformat57 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libavformat57

Use Purging libavformat57

If you use with purge options to libavformat57 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libavformat57

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libavformat57
