ibus-kkc software package provides Japanese Kana Kanji input engine for IBus, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ibus-kkc
ibus-kkc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ibus-kkc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ibus-kkc *
You will get with ibus-kkc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
