gmail-notify software package provides Notify the arrival of new mail on Gmail, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gmail-notify
gmail-notify is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gmail-notify package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gmail-notify *
You will get with gmail-notify package name, version, architecture and description in a table
