elpa-ws-butler software package provides unobtrusively remove trailing whitespace in Emacs, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elpa-ws-butler
elpa-ws-butler is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elpa-ws-butler package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elpa-ws-butler *
You will get with elpa-ws-butler package name, version, architecture and description in a table
