libgetdns-dev software package provides modern asynchronous DNS API (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgetdns-dev
libgetdns-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgetdns-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgetdns-dev *
You will get with libgetdns-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
