libevtx-dev software package provides Windows XML Event Log format access library -- development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libevtx-dev
libevtx-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libevtx-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libevtx-dev *
You will get with libevtx-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
