libcpan-meta-perl software package provides Perl module to access CPAN distributions metadata, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcpan-meta-perl
libcpan-meta-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcpan-meta-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcpan-meta-perl *
You will get with libcpan-meta-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
