libcantor-pythonbackend software package provides Base Python backend for Cantor, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcantor-pythonbackend
libcantor-pythonbackend is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcantor-pythonbackend package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcantor-pythonbackend *
You will get with libcantor-pythonbackend package name, version, architecture and description in a table
