libcairo2-dev software package provides Development files for the Cairo 2D graphics library, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcairo2-dev
libcairo2-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcairo2-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcairo2-dev *
You will get with libcairo2-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
