libboost-system1.61-dev software package provides Operating system (e.g. diagnostics support) library, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libboost-system1.61-dev
libboost-system1.61-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libboost-system1.61-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libboost-system1.61-dev *
You will get with libboost-system1.61-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
