libassimp3v5 software package provides 3D model import library, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libassimp3v5
libassimp3v5 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libassimp3v5 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libassimp3v5 *
You will get with libassimp3v5 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
