laptop-mode-tools software package provides Tools for Power Savings based on battery/AC status, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools
laptop-mode-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the laptop-mode-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep laptop-mode-tools *
You will get with laptop-mode-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
