klatexformula software package provides GUI to easily get an image from a LaTeX formula or equation, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install klatexformula
klatexformula is installed in your system.
Make ensure the klatexformula package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep klatexformula *
You will get with klatexformula package name, version, architecture and description in a table
