kernel-patch-scripts software package provides Scripts to help dealing with packaged kernel patches, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kernel-patch-scripts
kernel-patch-scripts is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kernel-patch-scripts package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kernel-patch-scripts *
You will get with kernel-patch-scripts package name, version, architecture and description in a table
