gnuplot software package provides Command-line driven interactive plotting program, version 5, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnuplot
gnuplot is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnuplot package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnuplot *
You will get with gnuplot package name, version, architecture and description in a table
