gnome-pkg-tools software package provides Tools for the Debian GNOME Packaging Team, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-pkg-tools
gnome-pkg-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-pkg-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-pkg-tools *
You will get with gnome-pkg-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
