gitlab software package provides git powered software platform to collaborate on code, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gitlab
gitlab is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gitlab package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gitlab *
You will get with gitlab package name, version, architecture and description in a table
