gccgo software package provides Go compiler, based on the GCC backend, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gccgo
gccgo is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gccgo package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gccgo *
You will get with gccgo package name, version, architecture and description in a table
