libksane-dev software package provides scanner library development headers, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libksane-dev
libksane-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libksane-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libksane-dev *
You will get with libksane-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
