libklibc software package provides minimal libc subset for use with initramfs, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libklibc
libklibc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libklibc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libklibc *
You will get with libklibc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
