libjs-mgrs software package provides Javascript for converting between WGS84 lat/lng and MGRS coordinates, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libjs-mgrs
libjs-mgrs is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libjs-mgrs package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libjs-mgrs *
You will get with libjs-mgrs package name, version, architecture and description in a table
