libjpgalleg4.4 software package provides JPG loading addon for Allegro 4, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libjpgalleg4.4
libjpgalleg4.4 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libjpgalleg4.4 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libjpgalleg4.4 *
