libjpeg9 software package provides Independent JPEG Groups JPEG runtime library, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libjpeg9
libjpeg9 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libjpeg9 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libjpeg9 *
You will get with libjpeg9 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
