libjpeg8-dbg software package provides Independent JPEG Groups JPEG runtime library (dependency package), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libjpeg8-dbg
libjpeg8-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libjpeg8-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libjpeg8-dbg *
You will get with libjpeg8-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
