libhivex-dev software package provides library for reading and writing Windows Registry hives, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libhivex-dev
libhivex-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libhivex-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libhivex-dev *
You will get with libhivex-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
