libgfortran3 software package provides Runtime library for GNU Fortran applications, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgfortran3
libgfortran3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgfortran3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgfortran3 *
You will get with libgfortran3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
