libgd-tools software package provides GD command line tools and example code, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgd-tools
libgd-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgd-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgd-tools *
You will get with libgd-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
