libept-dev software package provides High-level library for managing Debian package information, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libept-dev
libept-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libept-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libept-dev *
You will get with libept-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
