libccfits0v5 software package provides shared library for I/O with FITS format data files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libccfits0v5
libccfits0v5 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libccfits0v5 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libccfits0v5 *
You will get with libccfits0v5 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
