jmol-applet software package provides Jmol Java applet, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jmol-applet
jmol-applet is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jmol-applet package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jmol-applet *
You will get with jmol-applet package name, version, architecture and description in a table
