iftop software package provides displays bandwidth usage information on an network interface, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install iftop
iftop is installed in your system.
Make ensure the iftop package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep iftop *
You will get with iftop package name, version, architecture and description in a table
