ibid software package provides easily extensible Python IM bot for IRC, Jabber, SILC, campfire, etc., you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ibid
ibid is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ibid package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ibid *
You will get with ibid package name, version, architecture and description in a table
