hsqldb-utils software package provides Java SQL database engine (utilities), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hsqldb-utils
hsqldb-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hsqldb-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hsqldb-utils *
You will get with hsqldb-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
