hmmer2 software package provides profile hidden Markov models for protein sequence analysis, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hmmer2
hmmer2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hmmer2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hmmer2 *
You will get with hmmer2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
