hibernate software package provides smartly puts your computer to sleep (suspend to RAM or disk), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hibernate
hibernate is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hibernate package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hibernate *
You will get with hibernate package name, version, architecture and description in a table
