gnome-paint software package provides simple, easy to use paint program for GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-paint
gnome-paint is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-paint package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-paint *
You will get with gnome-paint package name, version, architecture and description in a table
