gcx software package provides astronomical image processing and photometry gtk+ application, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcx
gcx is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcx package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcx *
You will get with gcx package name, version, architecture and description in a table
