gccgo-aarch64-linux-gnu software package provides Go compiler (based on GCC) for the arm64 architecture, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gccgo-aarch64-linux-gnu
gccgo-aarch64-linux-gnu is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gccgo-aarch64-linux-gnu package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gccgo-aarch64-linux-gnu *
