ftplib-dev software package provides Library of callable ftp routines (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ftplib-dev
ftplib-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ftplib-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ftplib-dev *
You will get with ftplib-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
