freeplayer software package provides wrapper around vlc for French ADSL FreeBox, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install freeplayer
freeplayer is installed in your system.
Make ensure the freeplayer package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep freeplayer *
You will get with freeplayer package name, version, architecture and description in a table
