foomatic-filters software package provides OpenPrinting printer support - filters, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install foomatic-filters
foomatic-filters is installed in your system.
Make ensure the foomatic-filters package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep foomatic-filters *
You will get with foomatic-filters package name, version, architecture and description in a table
