fonts-texgyre software package provides OpenType fonts based on URW Fonts, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-texgyre
fonts-texgyre is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-texgyre package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-texgyre *
You will get with fonts-texgyre package name, version, architecture and description in a table
