fonts-sil-gentium software package provides extended Unicode Latin font (a typeface for the nations), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-sil-gentium
fonts-sil-gentium is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-sil-gentium package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-sil-gentium *
You will get with fonts-sil-gentium package name, version, architecture and description in a table
