fityk software package provides general-purpose nonlinear curve fitting and data analysis, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fityk
fityk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fityk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fityk *
You will get with fityk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
