firebird2.5-server-common software package provides common files for firebird 2.5 servers, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install firebird2.5-server-common
firebird2.5-server-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the firebird2.5-server-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep firebird2.5-server-common *
You will get with firebird2.5-server-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
