firebird-dev software package provides Development files for Firebird - an RDBMS based on InterBase 6.0 code, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install firebird-dev
firebird-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the firebird-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep firebird-dev *
You will get with firebird-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
