ffmsindex software package provides Command line tool to create ffms2 index files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ffmsindex
ffmsindex is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ffmsindex package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ffmsindex *
You will get with ffmsindex package name, version, architecture and description in a table
