fatrace software package provides report system wide file access events, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fatrace
fatrace is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fatrace package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fatrace *
You will get with fatrace package name, version, architecture and description in a table
