exuberant-ctags software package provides build tag file indexes of source code definitions, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install exuberant-ctags
exuberant-ctags is installed in your system.
Make ensure the exuberant-ctags package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep exuberant-ctags *
You will get with exuberant-ctags package name, version, architecture and description in a table
